Mr Scruff @ Green Dolphin
May 25, 2010
Ninja Tune heavyweight, Mr Scruff will be spinning one of his unreal sets at Green Dolphin Street on Saturday. Known for spinning every genre under the sun in six hour sets at a time and designing his own flyers, Scruff is one of the few DJs I have actually asked for an autograph from. He’s amazing.

I Don’t Need A Cure
May 21, 2010
Speaking of DEMF. Did you know that Radio Slave is going to be there? After his Spybar appearance, I’m betting his slot in Detroit will be off the wall.

LCD Soundsystem sure knows a thing or two about timing. As a little bonus for the iTunes sale of their latest album, This Is Happening, they’re giving out this Carl Craig (aka Paperclip) cover. Couldn’t come a moment too soon either, with one week left until DEMF, where Craig is the Creative Director.
If you’re not in the know- Carl Craig practically owns Detroit. If there’s anyone who can get me excited about motor city, it’s him. And Richie.
Trick Disco @ Subterranean
May 20, 2010
Burn baby burn. Trick Disco inferno will be kicking off at Subterranean once again this week. This time around with VDRK, Free Magic, OCD Automatic & Le Principle. If you’re free on Friday, you know where you should be.

Bugs Bunny in “A Wild Hare” (1940) (the 1st bugs bunny cartoon)
Renaissance Man
May 18, 2010
I’m happy to say I’ve got some more Renaissance Man tracks to report, including remixes done for such reputable individuals as Solo & Crookers. Some more not boring House, as they put it themselves in a prior interview.
Camel Mix
May 15, 2010Check out Camel‘s Summer 2010 Mix. Forward-thinking, deep & tribal vibes flowing throughout really emphasize the season. Very enjoyable. If you like this you should get ahold of his Nu Meltin’ Pot EP when you find the time.
Camel – Summer Time Mix 2010 [zshare]
Screw it. Let’s take a minute and preview the whole EP. It’s damn good. Damned good, I say.

Ok. I want to mention briefly that I reinstalled the ‘post-it’ section on the left hand side here. Feel free to post your music, I’m interested in hearing it.
Espirit sent me his latest little wonder, “A Private Kind Of Happiness.” A personal request on my part, I am glad I’m able to share it with you guys.

Outrunners recently presented a new mixtape on the Valerie blog. Just yesterday I was reflecting on the aesthetic purity of the 80′s film genres. Stayin’ on the look out for the new EP, out soon on Flexx Records.
Outrunners – Love & Money Mixtape [zshare]
Snagged this one from Slutty Fringe‘s 9millionth post. I know, crazy right? Loving this Chateau Marmont/Gavin Russem production. Yayeah.
Chateau Marmont – Monodrama (Gavin Russem Remix)
It’s like this & like that & like this & uh. Compton, Long Beach & Hanssen together. Unfadable to please don’t try to fade this. G-Funk gets a makeover.
Dr Dre – Nuthin’ But A “G” Thang (Hanssen Remix)
Got a juicy little house track to kick off a summer party with. Resoluto recently unleashed this Quantum Soul remix a day or two ago. Smooth.

Tensnake’s Reckless
May 10, 2010
Here’s a glance at the next Azari III release, out soon on Permanent Vacation. I’m very glad to see they have acquired Tensnake‘s educated input on it.
Update: The track was pulled recently.. but we do have a new remix package.

May 7, 2010
Coco Bryce, over at 20shotsequence, unleashed this Cassie remix 7 days ago. I’m not a big r&b fan by any means, but this tune forces a double-take.
Ghetto Division @ Abbey Pub
May 6, 2010
The Ghetto Division, Zebo and Le Principle are setting up shop this Friday at Abbey Pub. It looks like the whole crew’ll be there. You ready to dance?
Here’s a little preview: Rob Threezy‘s work with Vyle & TopBillin. His latest release, the Let’s Go Ravers EP, dropped last month. As fresh as ever.

This is not an event post: I am aware what the date is.
Wish I could have made it to the event above- Wow! Oh well. I guess I’ll settle for this Fantastic Mr Fox mix recorded around the same time. Gorgeous..

Dug this tropical jewel up the other day. You New Yorkers might be familiar with some of the events that Uproot Andy throws with Geko Jones. Which reminds me- I’ve really got to take a trip to the East Coast this Summer.
Amadou & Miriam – Sabali (Uproot Andy Remix)
Uproot Andy & Geko Jones – Etelvina Maldonado (Manuelita Remix)
Caballo & TMFK crushed this Prodigy classic a bit ago. What a harsh vision! Have you ever heard of flamenco-step? Might want to check out their tunes..
The Noodleman is back! Along with a few new mixes and other enjoyable deep disco gems, comes this one free for download. Italian food FTW!
Ron Ayers – Running Away (The Noodleman Remix)
I might post a bunch of mixes, but it’s not frequently that I am as moved by the one LOL Boys did recently for Mixpak. Stellar work there. Eye opening.
Fagget Fairies – Roll the Dice (LOL Boys Remix)
Fitout – Gil (LOL Boys & Buckmaster Buckboys Remix)
I’ve just been really vibing to this Steve Reich tune lately. Royksopp truly are something wonderful.. I know a lot of my contemporaries blogged this one a few months back, but I think it deserves another listen…

Resident Advisor is currently featuring Fudge Fingas on their RA Podcast this week. Great choice. Fudge has found a home in Firecracker Recordings and Trus’me’s own Prime Numbers. What he’s been working on? Ace deep house.
If the vocals in this next one don’t move you, you’re part of the problem.
DEMF Countdown I

PalmsOut dropped this Naughty/Roska remix in their Sunday Remix package yesterday. Fun little partystarter with a stutter-step i’m tripping over.
Naughty – Quicktime (Roska Remix)
Erol’s generosity, on behalf of PhantasySounds, a new music outlet, makes this next one possible. Here’s the Justin Robertson “Lemonade” remix.
Boys Noize & Erol Alkan – Lemonade (Justin Robertson’s Deadstock 33′s Remix)
I’m surprised that local dj/producer Le Principle has time to make tunes inbetween all the parties he knocks down. Glad he does though.
Machine – There But For The Grace Of God Go I (Le Principle Remake)
The Big Pink released the “Tonight” single recently. A rerecorded version with remixes including a haunting “berserkercore” (?) version from oOoOO.
The Big Pink – Tonight (oOoOoOo 2NITERMX)
It ain’t new, but it also hasn’t lost it’s luster. Loving this RQM “Atomic Fusion” Siriusmo piece. It’s got a chip on it’s shoulder. Check out Colors Fade.
