I’m really liking the new Caribou track. This one is taken from the upcoming Swim LP, the latest album since ’07′s Andorra. The goal is dance music that sounds like water. Interesting concept.
Expect the release to hit the shelves April 19th on City Slang. I’m hoping Dan Snaith make his rounds and hits Chicago sometime soon. Him and the ensemble, that is.
Received this Blende remix in my inbox the other day. It has been a while since he has graced my playlist, but that doesn’t mean I have forgotten about him. No sir, not after that awesome Adrian Lux remix that I was tripping over in ’08. Keep an eye out for his new material, coming out on his own label, Teenage Riot.

Pulled this one from As Heard From Mars, one of my more frequent reads in the blog world lately. It’s the Justin Martin remix of Mike Monday‘s “Grace,” originally featured on Justin Martin’s Remake EP in November, re-released on Monday’s Remixes Without Words EP only about two weeks ago on OM.
Further building on the breakthrough ’09 release, Zombie Nation is set to release Zombilicious Remixes Part 2 today on Turbo. For a little taste, here’s the Rebolledo remix of “Mas De Todo.” Chugs along quite nicely, doesn’t it?

I haven’t heard much from Michna since he stepped in and took Benga’s spot at DEMF when he was caught up in airport nonsense. Was a great set.

Ah yes. Just what the doctor ordered. Danger is back with “4h30,” another chronologically themed french electro gem that’s to be featured on 09/17 2007, set to be released on Ekleroshock in one week from today. If my predictions are correct, we’ll be seeing Danger in the Sahara Tent this year. I could be wrong, but Goldenvoice has been sleepin’ on that crew for wayyy too long.
Here’s another really solid reason why anything Matthew Dear (or Audion, if you prefer) touches is amazing. It seems like 2009 was just a warmup. I’m really excited to see what Dear’s got in store for us this decade, starting with that LP he’s been working on. Go pick up “Instant In You” if you’re getting a little impatient as well.. The Trick Disco monthly kicks off tonight with residents Sparkletone, OCD Automatic, Le Principle! Joining them for the launch is Ghetto Division’s MaddJazz, who’s deft hand also carries an excellent collection of disco-house.
The special guest is New Yorker Mike Simonetti, owner of the world-renowned Italians Do It Better label, home of Glass Candy, the Chromatics and some of the most forward-thinking Italo being made today.

Tommie Sunshine recently put together this Grateful Dead edit with Figure, and he seemed pretty happy about it’s reception earlier today via twitter. Usually if Tommie is happy with it then I am, too. What a genuinely interesting rework.
