Style of Mars

October 20, 2009

Certainly not a stranger to this blog, or many others for that matter, Fake Blood is back with a super long-awaited single of the 2008 hit “Mars.” Coming along for the ride this time are remixes by Boy 8-Bit, Jack Beats, Style of Eye‘s Edit To Debit Remix as well as the Hervé Re-Fix. Here’s a 320 taste of Style of Eye to whet your whistle for the time being.

Life Worth Living

October 20, 2009

In curveball dubstep fashion, Jakwob takes singer/songwriter Alan Pownall‘s “Life Worth Living” and flips it upside down. Adding a much deserved bit of womp to what will surely be an indie favorite this year, just as Jakwob has quickly become one of my favorite dubstep talents.

Glad to have some new Little Boots to post, this time a Treasure Fingers remix of “Earthquake” for you to start the week off with. It’s a little taste of what’s to come regarding her next release, out November 16th through 679/Atlantic. This girl has such a great voice..

Nine Inch Phones

October 14, 2009

Credit where credit’s due: props to Palmsout for this one. They might not even remember posting it- back in the dark ages of 2007, when the genius of Trent Reznor was suitably touched up by the dirty digits of Phones. Before Remix Sunday was shut down (and reopened only recently!) Appearing only that one time and then forgotten, since then remaining a sleeping giant until someone else had to go and repost it.

People Movin

October 13, 2009

There’s a new single coming out this November from The Shoes featuring Primary1 titled “People Movin.” Along with the Siriusmo track posted below, there will be other remixes by the likes of Monsieur Monsieur, Tom Deluxx & Toma. Really glad to see these guys mobilizing, I’ve loved the French duo’s work for a hot minute now.

Splash

October 13, 2009

This latest Sinden remix landed on me this morning. It’s of the Jack Splash single “I Could Have Loved You,” featuring Missy Elliot and Jazmine Sullivan. Keep an eye out for the full album Technology and Love Might Save Us All, set to be released in early 2010.

Essential Noize

October 12, 2009

In a strictly vinyl set, Boys Noize threw together the latest Essential Mix packed full of bouncing house and techno without any shameless self-promotion. Coming on the heels of his recent release, Power, out now on Boys Noize Records, and fully into his World Tour that’s hitting Chicago in two weeks with Chromeo and Crystal Castles, we’re getting spoiled from all angles this Fall. All that and there’s the Jeffer Remix single that was released yesterday with a new Modeselektor remix? What a nice Monday.

Under the Sheets

October 6, 2009

Following up her “Starry Eyed” surprise earlier this year, Ellie Goulding is set to drop her first single release on Neon Gold in early November. Killer vocals complimented by the production of Starsmith, with further remixing to be done by the likes of Jakwob -who’s initial remix left an imprint in my library that won’t be soon forgotten- as well works by Baby Monster and Theophilus London, Goulding’s work will without a doubt be making some serious waves here very soon.

R&R

October 5, 2009

I’m going back out west for a spell- haven’t been feeling myself lately- Listening to Anja Schneider & Sebo K‘s beautiful work, “Rancho Relaxo.” Picking it up for a moment, this Reboot remix of Metro & Sebo K’s latest work, Saxtrack, featured on the self titled EP release is bound to secure some stomp in your swagger.

For another recommendation, if you’re liking the former’s vibe, Anja has put out several mellow little tech-house gems that I’ve been vibing to this past week; my favorite of them being her “Three Weeks” remix found on the gorgeous Paul Brtschitsch single Me Myself & Live Part 2/4. The release is golden.

Tough Love

October 4, 2009

Lotsa commotion these days about the new Vitalic release, Flashmob. We’ve been waiting for so long. So long. Deliciously dark, jarring electro collection. If he skips Chicago on his tour I’m gonna be pissed.

Vitalic – Poison Lips

This Shazam track will be featured on a Modular/Bang Gang 12″ compilation that will be released later this month. Do want. I’m ready for some new fire from down under.

Shazam – Hello Cat

A bouncin’ GreenMoney edit of Boy 8-Bit‘s “Baltic Pine” has been on the rotation here. An interesting rehash of the twisted little carnival cut that blew minds a few months ago. Nice piece.

Boy 8-Bit – Baltic Pine (GreenMoney Bootleg)

Hugg & Pepp released the Sweet Rosie single a bit ago with that did not include a killer ‘Turbo Remix’ for some reason. If you like this one, you might want to hear the official remixes by Sei A and Jori Hulkkonen.

Hugg & Pepp – Sweet Rosie (Turbo Edit)

And what was a Discobelle exclusive on Friday- now blogged by everyone under the sun, here’s the Animal Collective remix of the Phoenix track “Love Is Like a Sunset.” Look out for the rest of the Phoenix remix collection out on October 13th.
