Paris’ own Institube trailblazer, Surkin, has gained a lot of momentum since I saw him last. Being a while since Surkin came to Chicago, I went to his gig last year when he played with Para One, Curses! & Orgasmic over at Darkroom. Really impressive. A little over a full year later, this Friday, Surkin will be playing over at Smartbar with the Hey Champ DJs and of course, Local Hero. It’s one of two spots he’ll be hitting this weekend. On Saturday he’ll be at Poisson Rouge in New York City. Friday will be another night adding to the long line of amazing acts that have been hitting the windy city, this isn’t one that you should miss. After that MSTRKRFT show last night, all I have to say is that I love this city in the fall..

The Nacho Lovers remix is off of a Scion double cd iheartcomix project that is set to be released soon. If you’re in Miami, check out the release party on the 22nd. The Bobmo track is a newer drop on the blogs, remixed by another Institube highlight that put on one of the best (and more animated) shows this summer at Debonair. And the VHS or Beta track is an older jam, but is still easily one of my favs.

Nacho Lovers – Acid Life (Surkin Remix)

Surkin – Kid Gloves (Bobmo Remix)

VHS or Beta – Burn It All Down (Surkin Remix)

If anyone gets to talk to him at the end of the night when he is a little loose ask him who Zeus is. I forgot to at the Respect party.

The whole Next of Kin Mark II EP is amazing, especially the Laidback Luke remix of white knight two :)

Agreed, Surkin destroyed. Post more ghettotech-influenced French stuff plz. After hearing Feadz & Surkin wreck it these last couple weeks I’m on a serious bender right now.

No, please just keep not posting that kind of crap, except if you’re posting Agoria, De Crecy, or Daft Punk and co, but all the ed banger’s stuff can be found elsewhere on the web : i’m french and i’m f*cking tired of seeing ed banger and institubes everywhere… It used to be pretty cool a year ago, now I feel like always listening the same shit on every new release
About the mk II ep, the Blaqstarr remix is sick, way more than the laidback luke one !
For the mac/pc thing : i’m on mac, and i can’t find ableton live 7, can anyone help?

Comment by Saint Malo

Oh and btw : hey champ = hey champ djs?
(I know that question sucks but actually i can’t find out :D )

Comment by Saint Malo

yeah, the hey champ dj’s are members of hey champ.

Comment by nicko

Like 2 many djs and soulwax?

Comment by Saint Malo

no… more like SMD to Simian i guess.

Comment by nicko

Saint Malo you’re getting a little crazy there. if my boy nicko want to post some ed banger stuff or institubes so be it.

and hey champ djs. is just to let people know its not a full band live set like they do sometimes.

and ZEUS is PARA ONE.
isnt that obvious? after PARA ONE kicked with heavy bass champ DTL/CURSES! on the paris terror club show he made that amazing song.
