Ohhhh.. yes.

Tomorrow, I’m making my short week shorter by taking off work on Thursday. Yeah, Thursday I have to take in my car to get fixed because somebody ran into it yesterday. Sucks, but that’s not the real reason anyways. Wednesday night I have plans that I don’t want the following morning to screw up. Stopping through Chicago for the night we have us Ellen Allien & Modeselektor, for the BPitch JetLag Tour ‘08. German Techno emperess, Ellen Allien, is enough to draw a crowd. And judging by her history and following I’m sure it will be quite the spectacle. Beats said she’ll be great. I trust his word on these things.

Beck – Cellphone’s Dead (Ellen Allien Remix)

But I did have the chance to see Modeselektor earlier this year at Coachella, and even with truly brilliant acts like SMD, Justice, Boys Noize and Booka Shade, I still have to give it to these guys. I loved the set. I consider myself a big fan. Up & down. Discouraged, because I thought that they would never come through our wonderful city (at least any time soon..) I was surprised to see that they would be playing before the summer was even out. The show is at Sonotheque on Wednesday, September 4th- that’s tomorrow, fellas. There are a few other dates in the US that they’ll be performing in the upcoming week on both coasts. I’m really excited.

Modeselektor – Godspeed

Modeselektor – The Dark Side Of The Sun

Modeselektor – Edgar

While you’re at it, snag the Jetlag mix from XLR8R.

Sept. 03 – Sonotheque – Chicago
Sept. 04 – Highline Ballroom – New York City
Sept. 05 – Mighty – San Francisco
Sept. 06 – Avalon – L.A. (with Matthew Dear)
Sept. 19 – Nitsa – Barcelona
Sept. 20 – Parade De Techno – (Day & Night) – PARIS
Sept. 27 – Fabric – London
