That was long. I’m Hungry.

More Fake Blood. Now. I’m not even so concerned as to who or what he/she is. I’m over it. Yeah, he’s not Boy 8-Bit, fine. That’s all gravy. Why can’t he sport a mask like Danger and speak through a third party so nobody hears his voice? Why doesn’t he do shows? Everyone and their mother is waiting for more remixes, more singles, and I can’t play out the ones that I have found scattered throughout the blogosphere. One of my favorite works of his is the remix of Little Boot’s “Stuck on Repeat”. Alone it’s a stellar single by the UK duo, and an interesting curve ball with a fidgety stomp once Fake Blood applies his magic. Wait til the bridge of the track clears- almost as good as sex, baby. I’ve been hearing Fake Blood everywhere I go, nowadays..

While briefly mentioning Boy 8-Bit, I might as well throw you guys a remix of his that blew my mind what seemed to be forever ago- to say the least. This South Rakkas Crew remix of “Mad Again” is from the single release off Mad Decent. On top of the 8-Bit remix, there’s a killer version done by Drop The Lime that boils down very nicely. What isn’t on that release is the DJ Sega version. I’ve been meaning to get to posting some Sega for a while now, but haven’t been offered a proper window yet. Here it is, I guess.

A few weeks ago, on a forum that I like to keep tabs on, UK based DJ Foamo did a post where he dropped his new Summer Mixtape. I’m pretty impressed, through and through- it’s definitely worth a listen. Included is a remix of Primary1 that I had been digging on a little while back, featuring the fidget stomp that seems to be blowing up more and more lately. I’m definitely going to be keeping an eye on this guy.

One Jape remix that really caught my ear back in November was the Tronik Youth version of “Floating”. You might remember the more recent D.I.M. version that I posted a little while back, along with a few other blogs at the time, but Tronik Youth’s version is yet another example what awesome things can be done with Jape’s work. Take the lyrics out, loop the chorus for five minutes and then drop them back in with what sounds like the strumming and plucking of a mandalin and you have the Prins Thomas Version. So delicate and fragile. The Prins Thomas verion is featured on the official “Floating” single album, that has other versions by the likes of Alex Metric and San Green. There’s also a Bobmo version out there somewhere in the vast galaxy of music blogs. In a more concrete world, Jape released his “Ritual” album on the 7th of June, so go grab a copy of it if you’re liking what you’re hearing and peep the video for “Floating”, too. The lyrics are so powerful in that track, I can see why artists gravitate towards it so frequently. ‘A lifetime is short, and death is so long. I don’t believe in no heaven, i just hope that i’m wrong.’

In a more static-y direction, we have us Circo Bazooko, an Italian group that was recommended to me during the Crookers contest. Like the Crookers, Circo Bazooko come from Milan, Italy. And they were kind enough to send me a few of their tracks the other day. Their blend is an interesting one, with a fusion of punk rock, electro, and a technique known as ‘circuit bending’- Circuit bending is the creative, DIY (Do It Yourself) short-circuiting of electronic devices such as low voltage, battery-powered guitar effects, children’s toys and small digital synthesizers to create new musical instruments and sound generators. [wikipedia] Here are a few exclusive examples of what they are all about.

Deadmau5 touched on Mickey Slim’s “Jump Around” remix a bit ago. Same lush bass tones that you can come to expect from the master of club floors. It’s an 8 minute banger, full quality, packed in with an original feel that’s been layered over. Can’t help but sing-along with it.. “Feelin Funky. Amps in the trunk. And I got more rhymes that there’s cops in a Dunkin Donuts shop..”Deadmau5 will be in New York on July 18th at the Fillmore, Redrocks on the 19th in Colorado, and then at the Virgin Music Festival in Baltimore on August 10th for those of you that are lucky enough to be in those areas. For those of you at Cream on August 21st.. in Ibiza.. I hate you. That is all.

If you read often, and haven’t figured out that I go wild over just about anything that Etienne De Crecy gets his hands on, you might as well start backtracking on my posts because there’s a lot of love there. No, he’s not coming to the states this summer- but I wish he would. Check out this video of his from Melt Festival. Crecy was recently featured ont they Mylo “Paris 400″ Remix CD along with SebastiAn & aswefall. He was also on the Bumblebeez “Rio” single, with his remix that is well worth checking out. For now, here’s a track he remixed of Namito & Martin Eyerer called “Quipa”, released one year ago tomorrow, that I will be running to later today. It’s off of the “Quipa” single, and along with the Crecy remix, there’s an Anthony Collins one worth checking out if you like what you hear. I recently started kicking my running schedule up to 3.5 miles per day, and I’ve been burning through tracks like these like matches. Also, take a listen to an older track of his called “Tempovision”- from the self titled remix album released at the beginning of the millennium.

I’ve also never really touched on any Lee Mortimer yet on redthreat. You may have seen him around the blogs going by Sawtooth Sucka as well, for those of you scratching your heads. I can’t find a copy of “Grab Ya Funkstick” – which is on his myspace right now, a remix of Kelevra’s that is featured on the “Bad Dog EP” that hasn’t been released yet in the US. Keep waiting.. Here is a nice little mixtape to bang your head to while your’e doing so, featuring a few gems that I’ll be sure to post up when I get my mits on ‘em. Pay special attention to the Tong & Spoon (Lee Mortimer Remix)- if you can find that one, please send it on over!
