The Crookers are coming! The Crookers are coming! The show of the summer is a week away already, and it’ll be the first Chicago appearance by the Italian duo, here to celebrate the one year anniversary party with everybody’s favorite fidget label, PottyMouth Records. The show is on June 20th at Smartbar, and along with The Crookers comes Santiago & Bushido, local Chicago legends and fellow PottyMouth label reps, as well as the man behind it all; James Amato. This’ll be the first stop on their nationwide tour, so get ahold of the tourdates on their myspace for those of you scattered around.

Channel 10: Turntable Lab Radio
This month the Lab gets as eclectic as possible. First, Blu Jemz interview’s trend setting DJ/producer Erol Alkan, live from Winter Music Conference. The two go over everything from DJ trends to Erol’s favorite drum filtering techniques. Next, blog-master the Arab Parrot flies through to mix it up with some high-energy tracks and drop some random banter on us. And last, the legendary DJ Scratch of EPMD stops by to talk about his production techniques and history in the game, blessing the end of the set with a very special EPMD classics routine that is sure to make your head nod.

Told I would leave a comment, nice meeting you outside of Smartbar (I was the tall kid, gray shirt). Erol Alkan set the gold standard as far as live sets last year (IMO) but this came pretty fucking close. Milan’s Finest came, saw and conquered.
