Be Like Water My Friend

Art by Ben Tour

Hey everyone its Joe again with with some old and new stuff you might enjoy. While just getting back from vacation about a week and 1/2 ago from Miami I got a chance to see two of my favorite DJs play at the Mansion. Much to say I was pretty impressed with the way the club was setup. The first night I was lucky to catch the Florida icon, Lazaro Casanova. It’s always hard to prepare yourself for his high energy sets. The next night was Deadmau5, who I had never seen before and had absolutely no idea what to expect. I was blown away from his performance and believe me it was one i won’t forget for anytime soon.. though it was too bad that I didn’t stay through the whole set due to me and my girlfriend getting sun tanned burned.

HeartsRevolution – CYOA (Lazaro Casanova Remix)

Deadmau5 vs Jelo – The Reward Is Cheese

Seeing that Deadmu5 is from Canada, I might as well move onto another fellow Canadian, Jesse F Keeler, or JFK -1/2 of Mstrkrft. Mstrkrft are currently working on their followup album that everyone seems to be anticipating at the moment. So to hold me and everyone else over for now I present a JFK remix of Thunderheist’s “Jerk It”, a little older remix of Goose’s “Bring it on” and the more recent collaboration with Usher- “Love In the Club”. I’m not really feeling this track- maybe because I’m not a big fan of Usher anyways- but here ya go.

THUNDERHEIST – Jerk It (Nasty Nav & JFK Remix)

Goose – Bring It On (MSTRKRFT JFK Remix)

Usher – Love In This Club (Mstrkrft Remix)

Now prepare yourself for a barrage of bangers from across the way from the insane masked duo The Bloody Beetroots. I don’t know what else to say about these tracks so I’ll let the music do the talking for me. Oh I also threw in Bob Rifo Mixtape with has mostly all Bloody Beetroot bangers, and while you’re at it, check out their remix of Michael Sembello’s “Maniac”!! Didn’t see that one coming, did you? The kicker- Verrà La Morte E Avrà i Tuoi Occhi, does it get any better than that?

Micky Green – Shoulda (The Bloody Beetroots Remix)

South Central – Golden Dawn (Bloody Beetroots Remix)

The Bloody Beetroots – June 2008 (Live Mix By Bob Rifo) (Uploading!)

From now on I’m going to start posting some of my favorite tracks that you’ll never find on any other blog. The first track is from Jean Claude Ades, Vincent Thomas called “Shingaling” remixed by Rainer Weichhold- a really upbeat track with a twist of Latin flavor. The Second Track is from Burufunk & Carbon Community, called “Community Funk” remixed by Deadmau5. It’s a very deep and progressive track. Then we have us a nice little clip from Bruce Lee’s last interview, for a little bit of inspiration. And for the last one, I have George Morel & SPJ throwing down “Let’s Take Drugs” remixed by Cedric Gervais. The title of the track speaks for itself.

Burufunk & Carbon Community – Community Funk (Deadmau5 Remix)

Bruce Lee – Be Water My Friend

George Morel – Lets Take Drugs (Cedric Gervais Remix)

Ok a few posts back Nicko post a track with Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip called “Thou Shalt Always Kill”. Well I don’t have that Fatboy Slim remix, but when i was going through my external drive I came across two other remixes by Rhysmix and Jono Fernandez & Kid Kenobi. Here ya go Nicko.

Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip – Thou Shalt Always Kill (Jono Kernandez & Kid Kenobi Remix)

Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip – Thou Shalt Always Kill (Rhysmix Remix)

The bloody Beetroots live mix is only 2 minutes long :\

Is something wrong with the *.mp3 or is it only 2 mins? Doesn’t make sense.

That Rhysmix remix is the best I’ve found of “Though Shall Always Kill.”

I’m wondering if you know who the artist is on these pictures. The last one looks like Josh Petker’s work, an up-and-coming painter from LA. Just curious. Either way, might be decent to give credit—visual artists struggle to spread the word as much as musicians do.
Thanks for the tunes!
