So I survived my first week at the new job. Train rides. Loud noises and sky scrapers. Days where sometimes the only real music I can hear before night comes from a saxophone in between the train and my office. It’s an interesting experience, but allows for a lot less nightlife. Go figure. Sorry about the hiatus, blog posting will resume as usual after this entry..

So for Friday night I went to see Mr Scruff at Smartbar. He was spinning an old school set of every classic american genre to date, everything from disco to blues and to the elementary hip hop that caught my ear years back. After coming from Mannequin earlier that night, it was a nice refreshment. Each club promotes house a different way, but saying that reggaeton is chicago dance music is almost laughable. Good music should be the center focus at nightclubs, not bogus promotional services that have lost sight of what a real party is.

And on to the music. Le Castle Vania sent me a new track of his. “Trouble In Daylight” was one of the first tunes that I posted on this blog at it’s very beginning. I’ve yet to see his set, which sucks, but after asking, he said that he’s working on getting back here to Chicago for a gig. Other than that, I’ll be keeping an eye out for him around the Coachella circuit later this month (who’s going? hit me up and let me know your plans if you are)…

Loud Pipes also updated me with a Foals remix that is pretty tight. Apparantly they’re having a remix contest, with a website featuring a few of the contenders.Pretty sick what has come around from it, I’ll probably toss out a few more of them the next time around. Loud Pipes always kill it.

It looks like the “Post It” section is coming along pretty well, it’s nice to have an open forum. I definitely want to help people throw their music out there. One suggestion that I took to heart was Inside Out Boy, who does a pretty killer little remix of Daft Punk’s “Stronger” that is essence an ensemble of previous remixes into one consolidated piece. Not too shabby!

Back to Chicago for a quick minute, we have here a HeartsRevolution “CYOA” remix, this time done by our hometown heroes, Flosstradamus. It’s always exciting to have them back in town for a bit. Even moreso when they drop tracks that make me look forward to it even more. Kickass.

Discodust turned me on to some sick music the other day. Here’s Grum, from England, blowing up my ipod in the last few days on the trainrides when I’m passing out for the short duration before I get to work. He’s got a new NLLR mixtape that I’ll put up in a few days or so. Until then, enjoy these!

Grum – Go Back

I haven’t posted a Kissy Sell Out Track in a short while, so here’s a remix by Metal On Metal that should do the trick.

Kissy Sell Out – Her (Metal On Metal Remix)

Lets close this one out with a little more Plimsouls. I was sent this one a few weeks back but forgot to upload it because I’m super ADD (go figure). Anyways, this one has become another nice addition to the lightweight and floaty collection of Plimsoul’s portfolio that I has grown on me so much. I still think the “Find the Time” remix is so sick. It lifts my spirits every time I hear it.
