With Diplo in town tonight we’re going to have to toss up a track to get people over to Smartbar. In other news, you can go to Lava tonight to see Pase Rock for The Booty Up, and then afterwards to Evil Olive to see even more. Winter Heat will have some sick hip hop icons over at Abbey Pub. If you didn’t figure out the Yeasayer show before now, don’t bother- it’s sold out. Yep, tomorrow’s show, too. Bummer. Go to the Numark show at Lava. And in case I don’t do a post beforehand- Cat Power is on Sunday (also sold out), with an afterparty over at Evil Olive once again.
Black Lips - Veni Vedi Veci (Diplo Remix)
Is it me, or does this Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve song remind you somewhat of Dan the Automator’s work on Deltron 3030? Those blaring brass notes throw me back to ‘Positive Contact’ for a short spell there. I’m always excited to see more stuff from their direction. Also, this song helps me showcase this artwork I stumbled on a few days ago.
Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve - Get Ready To Fly
It seems that the Crookers have been gaining a lot of momentum, judging by who’s coming here for what. So I’m gonna give you all a little bit more of what you want. That’s kind of the idea, right? This one mixes together two of my higher expectations for the year in one song: both the Crookers and Cazals. I’m loving the Beetroots teaser in the middle of it. Hopefully, the Crookers will be sticking around the US for a tour after their NY gig in June. We’ll see.
Cazals - Life Is Boring (Crookers Remix)

The latest Treasure Fingers track is tricked out like an LA Riots remix, start to finish. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s obvious in the vocal edits that there was some influence to it. For sure. Compare it with the Riots’ Keoki remix that spread across the internet a little while ago. In other news, I’m still waiting for the “get drunk/get fucked” track that I heard a while back to find it’s way to my desktop. Gracias, Nibbons.
One Hand Loves The Other - Tortoise (Treasure Fingers Remix)
Miami Horror always has the same sort of spring break, fuck-it-all feel to each track produced. “This Heart Attack” would set the mood in a similar manner to that of his “Mr. Ice Cream” rehash, except for the new wave core. More Breakfast Club, less Vice City if that makes any sense whatsoever.. For a bonus, here’s the Dirty Secrets remix in case you missed that crown jewel of a DJ set.
Faker - This Heart Attack (Miami Horror Remix)
The Dirty Secrets - 5 Feet Of Snow (Miami Horror Remix)
Nu Ravers On The Block hangin’ tough up in Canada, throwing parties with the likes of thee Bang Gang and Duke Dumont, both shows coming up in March. Aside from doing gigs, however, they also find time to throw together pulse pounding tracks for you to jam to. Check this one out.
HEARTSREVOLUTION - C.Y.O.A. (NROTB Remix Revolution)

Poney Poney sent me a copy of their Teenagers remix. I have yet to hear much more teens mixes done since the album was dropped. I guess the anticipation was too great for most people. I’m definitely liking the song, almost as much as the Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya edit of “Junior”. I really like that one. But what I really want is to get a hand on Poney Poney’s Don Rimini remix that is, as far as I know, only on this site.
The Teenagers - Love No (Poney Poney Emotion Remix)
Poney Poney - Junior (Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya Ya Remix)
What better to close out a post to than with The Field. Ain’t nothing wrong here, enjoy this one on a long drive somewhere annoying. Oh, and this one is a 15 minutes song. Little overkill, but I can still get down to it.
