Now to my rantings. Here is my letter to zshare: “this is ridiculous… there has to be a better way. more ads or something. you guys offer a great service, and it’s a shame that it has come to this. time=money. (don’t think people are afraid to use other services, and that others won’t pop up). on a lighter note, thanks for everything. i do really appreciate all that you’ve done for the internet. – nicko.”
While I’m on the subject of the internet, and while I’m on the internet, there’s a Ninjasonik track that made me laugh the other day. It’s the official blog-dork themesong, but it sounds so gangster. Haha. Out of New York with a slowed up hip hop vibe coupled with a sinister vocal whisper, DJ Teenwolf & Reverend Mcfly have stuck gold here. It’s hard to tell the future of hip hop nowadays, considering the success of the dancefloor oriented mindset that his gaining tremendous popularity. Perhaps these guys will be our trailblazers. I’m digging it.
Three cheers to Hey Now. Gotta shed a little light on the Sydney group responsible for some of the more slept on, more amazing tracks I’ve heard in quite some time. Anyone can manage to slip Eminem into an electro megamix effortlessly without skipping a beat and/or making me cringe gets two very enthusiastic thumbs up from my direction. They also might have crafted my favorite remix of ‘I Can Cook’ to date.

Switching gears for a moment, Flying Lotus has been gracing my stereosystem quite a bit the past day or two while I’ve been wanting to relax a little. So I’m going to put up a track or two for you to vibe on. Both have been around for over six months now and remain as timeless as their debut. The drums on ‘Bossy’ are a solid ace. That’s the track you throw at your girl when you’re putting your moves on. After that one, compare the song to the Oizo fix just to see the range of production ‘Lotus is capable of. Wow.

Mr. Oizo – $tunt$ (Flying Lotus Remix)
Dug up another remix that I thought that I’d share! Surprise!!! My buddy Chase turned me on to The Bravery a long while back after I threw him the Hot Chip full length. A fair trade? Maybe not, but I really do like the Bravery. When they’re on, they’re on. A while back I did a search for some remixes of theirs and nothing stuck, except for this one track that took a while for me to get it fully downloaded. A long while after the show was over, actually, leaving me hanging of course. Then I listened to it and three fourths of the way through, the volume kicked up (on the recording) and nearly deafened me. So I had to find it again and I did. The end.

Still digging that Pfunkt remix of Mr. Miyagi’s “Pick Your Poison”? Yeah- me too. If you haven’t heard it yet, I strongly suggest that you search it at the bottom left of the page here and give it a once-through. Thankfully there’s another track that was rifled my way by the Philly rocker. And while you’re at it, check out this music video of his for “Confidence”. Dear god. I’m not sure whether I should be amused or horrified! One thing is for sure: I want a pair of those yellow shades.

i’ve been rather enjoying mediafire as an alternative to zshare. clean, easy to use, unobtrusive and allows you to keep and organise a large number of files online with no expiry date. it’s pretty sweet.
Comment by luke January 11, 2008 @ 11:04 pmThere are so few dance blogs worth bothering with. Yours is consistently one.
Comment by Ctel January 12, 2008 @ 2:55 amI’m on the internet bitch. That shit is awesome. Cant wait to see if there’s a video follow up.

Comment by Derek January 12, 2008 @ 4:38 amAgree about the Mediafire thing. Zshare is so fckn frustrating when you’re tyring to upload and download, people WILL get more annoyed and vote with their clicks. They guys running zhare are in the bucks now so they don’t care…
Great post (as always) and was enjoying it until the stormtrooper in underwear pic, then i loved it. keep it up.

Comment by nicko January 14, 2008 @ 6:56 pmzshare is not that bad and I am happy using their service. but for those who wants an alternative to zshare. upzilla.net seems to be much better in terms of the features it offers.
