I’ve fallen face first into another annual FF3 black hole.
This Symbol One track is doing wonders for me. Where has this been? I can’t get enough of “Love Juice”. Now all I need an 80’s style karate kid montage to it. .
Let’s do some Russ Chimes over here. This is party music, through and through, set in an arcade wonderland rather than a dingy brick laden club with sticky floors and drink specials.
Russ Chimes – She’s Got The Heat
Russ Chimes – Shes Got The Heat (Cryptonites Remix)
Russ Chimes – Mulsanne

The Cryptonites deserve further mention after that last post. I threw this song up for a minute the other week when the Arctic Monkeys came to town. The remix feels a little flimsy at first, but pieces itself together for the full picture right at the end of it. Wait for the three minute marker here.
Arctic Monkeys – Old Yellow Bricks(Cryptonites Tease The Monkey Remix)
Time for the progressive guitar-laden dancefloor banger of the week. Here we have Azzido Da Bass. “Lonely by Your Side” was always one of my favorites off of the Kitsune compilation projects. I’d heard relatively little of his work, so I dug up the Speaker Junk remix.
Azzido Da Bass – Lonely By Your Side
Azzido Da Bass – So Wrong (Speaker Junk’s Just Grinding Remix)

This LCD Soundsystem remix is an interesting take on a classic. The vocals were reworked as keystrokes in a bouncy, fast-paced reinvision. The original is held very close to my heart, so it’s nice to hear other people’s takes.
LCD Soundsystem – Someone Great (Shokking Shokkaboy Remix)
Digikid-84 has been on heavy rotation here for a few days. Both the original and the Culture Prophet remix of B.Boy Underground are solid. This is the second time this week I’m posting up CP- dope stuff here, very nice.

The Cryptonites remix is interesting; definitely sounds less flimsy after a few listens.
(FF3 is a great game… but not as great as CC.)
Comment by Lainii December 19, 2007 @ 11:23 pmi can relate so much on the ff3 black hole. the only thing worse than that is a chrono trigger black hole.

Comment by ONEWORDfish December 20, 2007 @ 8:34 pmI don’t care what anyone says, Tara was the hero in FF3. I might give you Celeste, but none of this Locke “Hero” bull geshicte.
Oh, and Shadow is Relm’s dad, in case you hadn’t twigged.
Comment by ivehadworse December 21, 2007 @ 2:11 amshadow is relms dad? really? that’s just crazy.
Comment by nicko December 21, 2007 @ 12:55 pmyeah, if you get a chance to see all of shadow’s dreams (by staying in inns a crap of a lot… totally random, and in no particular order)… I believe there are 6 of them… you can piece together his life before becoming… him. Not to mention the accessory that is only to be warn by Relm’s relatives (says in the description … something something “A MOTHER’S LOVE”) And only Relm, Strauss (grandpa), and Shadow can wear it.
Yeah, true story.
Comment by ivehadworse December 29, 2007 @ 9:04 pmi’ve seen some of the dreams. the first time one kicked in i was blown away. pretty epic shit there.

#2 Wanted to let you know that the “She’s Got The Heat” original and remix links are both linking to the remix MP3 (which I happen to like a lot).
Best,
Mike
