07/09 Reference: Luke Hess, Brian Kage, Max Jacobson, K-rAd @ Victor Hotel
Hot Chip has a new song “Ready For The Floor” off of their next album “Made In The Dark”. They even have a couple remixes of the work by the likes of Soulwax & Jesse Rose. The Jesse Rose mix is a nice twist. I’m not going to lie, the track is starting to rapidly grow on me after the first few listens. But after their epic release of “The Warning“, I’m not sure it can quite hold up.
I’ll tell you this, though. I’m not even going to start knocking these guys. Their live performance at Coachella this past year was one of the best times I’ve ever had. I hadn’t expected such an easy-listening electro-pop group to tear a crowd like that. Worth a plane ticket. Totally. I’ll be anxious to hear more of the album when I can get my grubby mits on it.

Well, after “The Warning” they’d have to break themselves in half to come up with something better so soon. Wasn’t impressed at first with some of the new stuff but it’s growing on me as well. They must put musical earwigs in their hooks that slowly devour your soul, or something like that.
