LA native & Dim Mak Records founder Steve Aoki is returning to Chicago, this time not to promote T-Mobile or Stoli, but to celebrate a birthday- Mark Gertz (of Dark Wave Disco) is one year older. Should be pretty hot. Todd, from The Faint, will also be behind the decks. I’m usually not very pleased by emo/indie bands switching up to spin dance music for their fans- who most of the time don’t know crap about a dance floor besides it being an empty space to try and out-cool eachother.
Regardless, even if the guy sucks, Dark Wave Disco’s Trancid, Mark Gertz & Greg Corner will be sure to get the floor movin’ like they always do. Check their myspace page for article references- they’ve been getting some good press lately in the Windy. The show is at Sonotheque, it’s 21+, it’s brought to us by Paul In Chicago & CT Couture, there will be video-play by Panic Films & you can get trashed off of 3 dollar Goose Islands all night long. That’s enough plugging on my part, I’ll be there- isn’t that all I have to say by now?
