Buck 65A few weeks back Buck 65 launched a remix contest through Strange Famous Records for the song Shutter Buggin’. A pretty cool idea for promoting his upcoming album. Well, the results are in. And after careful deliberation on behalf of Buck 65 himself, it was announced that UK’s Aupheus took the title. Buck 65 says he was looking for something sleazy & sinister, and this cat nailed that right on the head; “produce a gritty sound! like this!”

With the same bass notes that you might have found in some older Sixtoo joints it all fits together really well. I figured that it would only be appropriate that I post it up and see what you guys think about it. ‘Pants On Fire’ will be a little bonus. Oh, and Buck will be in town within the next few weeks and you can be sure that I will post a great deal of awesome Buck tunes, new and old, to celebrate the return of the master.

“I also get asked all the time, ‘how would you describe your sound?’ I don’t have a good answer for that either. I could say ‘hip hop’, but a lot of people would disagree with that,” Buck 65 says. “Why would they? Well, best I can figure is that it’s a very conservative genre and my take on it is very liberal, to say the least.” In my opinion, Buck 65 is to hip hop what Johnny Cash was to Rock & Roll.
