Alright, let’s get this party started right. Last night was a blast. I headed over to the Dark Wave Disco Tommie Sunshine costume bash over at Sonotheque a little later than desired because of certain friends of mine taking forever to get ready. Plus, finding parking and dealing with dick cabdrivers took up a significant chunk of the night, but all’s well. All’s well.

You may have seen me running around Sonotheque wearing a tiger outfit. Or rather, an orange shirt and tiger ears. Probably the most uninspired costume I’ve concocted- many thanks to my sister for purchasing the tiger ears in the first place. Is it still stealing when you tell someone you stole it? Even with no intentions of returning it? It came in very handy on the clutch end of the month when every costume store in the city’s been raided. Plus, I look superfly as a tiger.

Rchrd Oh!? was dropping hot fire. A whole mess of stuff you might have found on this site. Most people were too preoccupied comparing shoes or how black their hair and eyeliner was or to notice until a little later when the booze started circulating. Hmm.. What’s a good costume so that I can wear all black?? No lie, though, I saw some good costumes. There was a banging chick in a cat outfit. Might have been a rabbit, maybe. One guy was half naked with a sign saying “I am straight”. There were people dressing up as their favorite hipsters- I saw one dude donning a Johnny Love outfit with an LA hat and a Chicago t-shirt, and another guy dressed as Tommie Sunshine himself. Made me double take when Sunshine was actually spinning and I mistook the costume for the real thing. I’m all like “Weird! Dude has a body double!!

It may sound funny, but I saw at least three kids who looked like the male versions of a handful of girls I know and am friends with. Shit really makes you think. But it’s not very surprising considering that at that club half of the guys are really chicks anyways. Haha. I’m not hating. The end of the night gradually picked up. Right after Sunshine dropped the “In The Ghetto” track on us people started moving. People started grabbing my tiger ears and a dude took some video footage of us banging out. Great time- grey areas throughout segments of memory for me, but I know I had a blast. After Sonotheque shut down, we made our way over to The Cool Kids loft party around Damon & Fulton. By then it was 3:30 and I was broke and blacked out. Time to go home, too much whiskey.

Hey, since I didn’t go to the second party, let me know what I missed? How was it?
