Back to Scottsdale for a week or two before i move back to Chicago. and on to the corny lamenting and nostalgiac montages running through my head as i walk through asu and declare graduation. The soundtrack to ‘Breakfast Club’ will be on repeat and there’ll be lots of sighing, and maybe a dance scene. Or a sex scene in the cafeteria. Maybe i’m getting carried away. But one thing that always raises my spirits is a stroll down palm walk- i’ll take that stretch of pavement over any spot in california in terms of lucrative brainless eye candy any day. One last run-through, yes. i’ll save the Mill Ave. drunken stagger until later this week when my hangover from Chicago lets up. screw packing.

I saw a movie today called ‘Rocket Science’ about a young teen with a stuttering problem aspires to become a high school debater, convinced that it will help him get a girl who is out of his reach. It ran like napoleon dynamite crossed with little miss sunshine, and dragged on like the main character’s speech defect. In the end, the lesson is another reminder of the bleak and unforgiving presence of human existence and the importance of each moment, regardless of how picturesque they might be. also of lessons learned and all that happy crap. I’d give it a low “C” for having the violent femmes playing perpetually throughout the movie, which is both a plus and a minus. Movies that serve as music videos don’t do it for me, with exception of garden state. Rotten Tomatoes compared it with the likes of Donnie Darko and Rushmore- which is quite a stretch. The depth wasn’t there, and they were desperately aiming for some impact.

And I dug up some music i’ve been vibin on. Is it me or is anything that guns n bombs touches golden? Oh, and the Rihanna track isn’t that bad when a good dj gets his hands on it. I’m kind of embarrassed to even say it.
