The Klaxons, hailing from London and destroying festivals and concert halls across the world, have made more than a name for themselves in the dancefloor indie scene, even being nominated for the Mercury Prize in July. Starting in 2006, after the release of their premiere single ‘Gravity’s Rainbow’, the track hit the radio and The Klaxons were off and running as one of the hottest groups to emerge in England that year. Personally, i love to get my hands on one of the rare 500 copies that went to print, yet don’t feel like shelling out for a marked-up second-hand copy.

After signing to Polydor Records later that year, The Klaxons went on the release ‘Magick’ and reached the number 29 spot on the UK Top 40, eventually leading them to perform at several festivals that year… And then ‘Golden Skans’ dropped- my favorite of their releases, and their most popular track across the globe currently. with ‘Skans, The Klaxons jumped to number 16 on the charts and gave the world a preview of what was to come in January of the following year. with another single release of ‘Golden Skans’ and covers of Justin Timberlake’s ‘My Love’ and Grace’s ‘Not Over Yet’ they also received heaps of praises and publicity.

They also have a ton of remixes that some of the best dj’s in the world have graced (and after considerable time gathering them within the last few months, below is the labor of my love). In terms of releases, however, once their full length album ‘Myths of the Near Future’ was released it was all over, The Klaxons had earned international notoriety and put together a tour that will hit my city of Chicago on October 6th at the Vic Theatre.
